This guide covers installing Termique, setting up your master password, and opening your first SSH session.

Prerequisites

  • A computer running macOS, Windows, or Linux
  • An SSH server you can reach: hostname or IP, port, username, and a password or private key

Set up Termique

Download the app

Download the latest release for your platform from termique.app/download and install it.

Sign in

Open Termique and click Sign in with browser. Your default browser opens to complete sign-in. When it finishes, return to the app.To stop waiting for the browser, click Cancel.

Complete onboarding

On first sign-in, a 4-step setup runs:
  1. Welcome: click Get started.
  2. Create master password: enter a master password of at least 8 characters and confirm it. Check I understand my master password cannot be recovered if lost., then click Set master password.
  3. Choose your theme: pick Light, Dark, or System, then click Continue.
  4. Compare Free and Pro: click Continue to app, or Upgrade to Pro to open checkout in your browser.

There is no master password recovery. If you lose it, your stored credentials cannot be decrypted. Store it in a password manager.
If you already use Termique on another device, onboarding is skipped. Enter your existing master password on the unlock screen instead.

Add your first host

After onboarding, you land on the Hosts page. Click New host. You can also click + next to Hosts in the sidebar, or press ⌘N on macOS or Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows and Linux.In the Add host panel, fill in:
  • Label: a name for the host, such as web-prod-01
  • Host or IP: the hostname or IP address. You can also enter host:port.
  • Port: the SSH port. Default 22.
  • Username: the SSH user
  • Authentication: Password, Stored SSH key, or Private key
Groups, Tags, and Connect via (a jump host) are optional.Click Add host. Termique encrypts the credential and opens the host’s page.

Connect

On the host’s page, click Open session. From the Hosts list, hover a row and click Connect, or select it and press Enter.The session appears under Sessions in the sidebar. Click it to return to the terminal.
